Apples and Snakes is England’s leading organisation for spoken word and performance poetry, with a national reputation for producing exciting, engaging and transformative work in performance and participation. We have received an uplift in our core funding from 2015 to 2018, but need to raise additional funds in order to support our ambitious artistic plans. Our current focus is on trusts and foundations, however we are also keen to explore other potential forms of income, particularly in terms of individual giving and corporate partnerships.
As a small organisation with a national reach, Apples and Snakes does not have a dedicated development team, with our fundraising activities led by our Director with input from the wider team. The Fundraising Fellow will therefore have the potential to transform the fundraising capacity of Apples and Snakes, bringing fresh ideas into the organisation and providing crucial support for the delivery of our fundraising strategy whilst developing your own skills, experience and networks.
You will be involved in all aspects of fundraising at Apples and Snakes, and will have the opportunity to test out new ways of working as well as to shadow the Director and other members of staff. You will also develop our administrative systems for fundraising, and play a key role in researching new potential prospects as well as drafting applications and building relationships.
Apples and Snakes has a strong track record of supporting and developing people at the start of their careers in the arts, and look forward to welcoming a Fundraising Fellow to our vibrant, committed and friendly staff team.
