Artswork without strapline JPGSouth East Dance Dev Hub 1

Artswork is a national youth arts development agency founded some 27 years ago.  Its founding Chairman and Hon President is Sir Ken Robinson.  Acting as a national voice for youth arts, our mission is to place the arts and culture at the heart of work with, for and by children and young people and particularly those who are hardest to reach. Artswork champions, leads and facilitates young people¹s engagement with great art and culture and supports the development of young arts practitioners and leaders. We have a regional, national and international portfolio of work and, as the Bridge Organisation for the South East, are a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.

Our Business Plan 2015/18 aims to build strength and capacity in every area of fundraising.  Our Fundraising Fellow would work alongside Artswork¹s Chief Executive and be integrated into the work of the management team working both strategically as well as practically growing and supporting our portfolio of work through greater diversification of funding sources including through Trusts and Foundations, sponsorship and lottery sources. This will also include direct contact with people at all levels of the organisation and across our local, regional and national networks.  Our Fellow would also have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of commissioning through engaging with our role as a Bridge Organisation as we negotiate innovative partnerships with, for example, Local Authority commissioners of work for children and young people.

We would intend to fully integrate our Fundraising Fellow into our positive, friendly, energetic and well supported working environment.  We would agree targets and responsibilities and would also support their personal and professional growth in a number of ways including opportunities to attend our events as well as Artsplan training courses.   What Artswork offers is an opportunity to work at a unique youth arts organisation which builds local, regional, national leadership at policy and practice levels and is immersed in both strategy and delivery and in supporting delivery through partnerships.
