London Transport Museum is the world’s leading museum of urban transport. Our outstanding collections of buses and trains, posters and artwork, photography and film, social history, plans and architecture show our visitors the central role of transport in the making of modern London, past, present and future.
Since becoming a charity in 2008 and building on a successful capital fundraising campaign the Museum’s fundraising team has grown from two to nine people delivering high profile programmes including the 150th anniversary of the London Underground and Year of the Bus. Between 2015-17 the Museum’s Transported by Design programme, delivered in partnership with our parent company Transport for London will celebrate London’s rich transport and design heritage, the centenary of the Johnston typeface, the role played by Frank Pick as London’s greatest design commissioner and how good design makes life in London better.
As we continue to grow we look forward to working with our Fundraising Fellow on a number of projects focused around our Transported by Design programme. Working as part of our successful and ambitious team you will develop a broad range of skills including events planning and delivery, developing campaigns, writing funding applications and sponsorship proposals and building and managing relationships with a whole range of Museum stakeholders, donors and funders.
You will also have the opportunity to support our sector leading work with children and young people. The Museum is committed to including the voices and experiences of young people in our cultural programming and to supporting young people to make positive career choices and find work through direct delivery.
You will benefit from being part of an ambitious, forward-thinking and collaborative museum located in the heart of London’s West End where you will feel inspired, motivated, enabled and supported to develop the skills needed to build a successful career in one of the country’s most exciting sectors.
