This introductory course is designed for leaders, fundraisers, trustees, and development staff working in arts, culture, and heritage organisations who are preparing for, or considering, a capital fundraising campaign.
Participants will gain a practical understanding of capital fundraising principles, campaign planning, donor engagement, and the unique considerations involved in cultural and heritage capital projects.

This course is for arts, culture and heritage professionals who want to gain a practical understanding of how to develop a successful capital fundraising campaign.
It will help you:
- Understand the fundamentals of capital fundraising
- Distinguish between revenue and capital fundraising approaches
- Assess organisational readiness for a capital campaign

- Identify and prioritise potential funding sources
- Understand campaign structures, phases, and timelines

Through expert guidance, real-world examples and peer discussion, you’ll gain practical tools and insights to help you build your confidence and skills in capital fundraising.
This course will be delivered virtually via Zoom in two separate 3-hour sessions. The first of these will take place on Thursday 11th February 2027 from 10am to 1pm and the second will take place on Thursday 18th February 2027 from 10am to 1pm. It is necessary to attend both sessions to complete the full training.

This course will be delivered by Rebecca Churcher-Soden, Associate Director of Strategy and Projects at Cause4, and Annie Jarvis, Director of Strategy and Programmes at Cause4.
Rebecca is experienced across the cultural and heritage sectors specialising in fundraising, project development and delivery of large-scale complex capital projects and campaigns. She has extensive experience in the charity sector that includes capital campaign development and delivery, strategic business development and relationship management.
Annie specialises in strategic fundraising development, business planning and capital fundraising. With extensive experience working across the cultural sector, Annie has supported organisations of all sizes to leverage revenue and capital funding.
