Essentials in Corporate Fundraising

UK businesses give an average of £4billion to the charity sector each year, yet navigating fundraising in this area is becoming increasingly complex. Whilst corporate partnerships can unlock valuable income, audiences and marketing opportunities for arts, culture and heritage organisations, successful fundraising in this area requires more than sponsorship asks. It’s about building authentic, mutually beneficial relationships with businesses that share your values and ambitions.

Delivered online by Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy, this practical course provides a solid introduction to corporate fundraising for the cultural sector, giving you the skills and confidence to identify opportunities, approach potential partners and create compelling propositions.

Who is this for?

The course is excellent as an induction tool for fundraisers and cultural professionals with little to no experience in corporate fundraising.

It will help you:

  • Understand the fundamentals of corporate fundraising
  • Explore which corporate fundraising methods from in-kind support, or corporate memberships to sponsorship deals will work best for you
  • Identify and research prospective businesses to engage
  • Understand your assets and how to value your offer
  • Develop partnership propositions and sponsorship packages
  • Communicate organisational value and impact effectively
  • Approach businesses with confidence and professionalism
  • Manage and steward corporate supporters successfully

Through practical exercises, peer learning and real-world examples, you will come away equipped with the tools to create and launch a successful corporate fundraising campaign.

This course will be delivered virtually via Zoom in two separate 3-hour sessions. The first of these will take place on Tuesday 13th October 2026 from 10am to 1pm and the second will take place on Tuesday 20th October 2026 from 10am to 1pm. It is necessary to attend both sessions to complete the full training.

Alongside access to this live course, you will receive follow-up resources and guidance from Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy, as well as access to our alumni network, offering first-hand insights of new opportunities and discounts on future courses.
