Essentials in Fundraising

Are you at the beginning of your arts or heritage fundraising career? Or do you need to know more about fundraising in your job? If so, then this course is for you.

Delivered online by Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy, this practical course will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to thrive as a fundraiser. Throughout the course, you will learn about the different income streams available, understand how to plan and conduct research, gain top tips for developing your Case for Support, and identify how to launch successful fundraising campaigns.

This course will be delivered virtually via Zoom in two 3-hour sessions, taking place on Thursday 7th January 2027 from 10am-1pm and Thursday 14th January 2027 from 10am-1pm.

This course is ideal for individuals who are new to arts fundraising or those with prior fundraising experience who are looking for a refresher.

It will help you:

  • Understand the latest trends in fundraising
  • Discover different income streams, from Trusts and Foundations to individual giving and corporate sponsorship

  • Build an effective fundraising Case for Support
  • Gain top tips for writing applications

This course will be delivered virtually via Zoom in two separate 3-hour sessions. The first of these will take place on Thursday 7th January 2027 from 10am to 1pm, and the second will take place on Thursday 14th January 2027 from 10am to 1pm. It is necessary to attend both sessions to complete the full training.

The cost of this six-hour online course is £82.50 + VAT.

Trainer: Helen Jenkins

This course will be delivered by Helen Jenkins, Founder of 117 Consulting and expert fundraiser with more than 20 years’ experience working with arts, culture and heritage organisations. In her early career Helen specialised in organising overseas challenges and large events for charities and has since had senior management and board level roles in a range of organisations. Through 117 Consulting, Helen supports the sector to build fundraising strategies that actually work, helping organisations make complex decisions and ensures individuals develop their fundraising skills.
