Evaluating and Communicating Your Impact

There is an increased pressure on arts, culture and heritage organisations to have robust monitoring and evaluation processes and be able to then communicate the impact of their work effectively. Funders investing in the sector have differing expectations, and it can be difficult to know if we’re focusing our impact measurement in the right place.

This course will be delivered virtually via zoom on Wednesday 26th November 2025 from 10am to 1pm

This training is designed to support fundraisers within the arts, culture and heritage sector, giving participants the confidence, knowledge, and skills to better evaluate and communicate the impact of their organisation’s work.

The course will cover the following content:

  • The What, Why and When of monitoring, evaluation and learning
  • Exploring quantitative and qualitative
  • Creating your monitoring, evaluation and learning framework to apply to your programmes
  • Considering what Trusts and Foundations are looking for and how to navigate the different requirementswith confidence
  • How to communicate your impact, combining data with narrative for reports, bids and the public

By the end of the course, you will have an understanding of what measuring impact truly means; have a base for designing and implementing practical evaluation methods; have the skills and tools needed to communicate your story effectively and align your impact with funder and stakeholder expectations.

Who is it for?

This course is for arts, culture and heritage fundraisers who are looking to understand more about impact and evaluation methods. The course is excellent as an induction tool for those with little to no experience of impact measurement.
