Evaluating Your Impact

Gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to better evaluate and communicate the impact of your organisation’s work.

There is an increased pressure on arts, culture and heritage organisations to have robust monitoring and evaluation processes and be able to then communicate the impact of their work effectively. Funders investing in the sector have differing expectations, and it can be difficult to know if we’re focusing our impact measurement in the right place.

This training is designed to support fundraisers within the arts, culture and heritage sector, giving participants the confidence, knowledge, and skills to better monitor and evaluate the impact of their organisation’s work.

Who is it for?

This course is for arts, culture and heritage fundraisers who are looking to understand more about impact and evaluation methods. The course is excellent as an induction tool for those with little to no experience of impact measurement.

The course will cover the following content:

  • The What, Why and When of monitoring, evaluation and learning
  • Understanding the evaluation journey and effective evaluation principles
  • Creating your monitoring, evaluation and learning framework to apply to your programmes
  • Exploring your Theory of Change so you can plan projects with impact at the forefront
  • Communicating your impact, combining data with narrative for funder reports

By the end of the course, you will have an understanding of what measuring impact truly means; have a base for designing and implementing practical evaluation methods; have the skills and tools needed to create your Theory of Change, and have the confidence to communicate your story effectively.

This course will be delivered virtually via zoom on Thursday 3rd December 2026 – 10am to 1pm.

Alongside access to this live course, you will receive follow-up resources and guidance from Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy, as well as access to our alumni network, offering first-hand insights of new opportunities and discounts on future courses.
