Harry Hickmore

Harry Hickmore joined the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) in April 2023 as its Development Director. The OAE is a British period instrument orchestra based at Acland Burghley School. It is a Resident Orchestra of the Southbank Centre in London, Associate Orchestra at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Artistic Associate of Kings Place. Harry joins OAE from the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, where he led a £12m capital campaign to transform a disused heritage site in Clerkenwell, London into a permanent home for the organisation with galleries, studios and gardens. Prior to this, he worked at Wilton’s Music Hall as Head of Development and Communications and at English National Opera as a fundraiser. He is also a Trustee of The Marian Consort, one of the UK’s leading vocal ensembles and a Fellow of the RSA. Harry has also written for The Telegraph, The Stage, The Independent and HuffPost on arts philanthropy, culture policy, audiences and education.
