Where are they now?

Hema is currently the Director at Pedestrian, an arts and education charity based in Leicester that uses arts and creativity as a vehicle to engage, empower and enrich children and young people’s lives. Prior to that she has worked at many different arts organisations based across the East Midlands including Charnwood Arts, People Express and Attenborough Arts Centre. She also has experience of working in local authorities and school settings. Her passion is community and participatory arts and working with young people. During her gap year from her BA Honours Media & Cultural Studies degree, she worked for BBC Radio Leicester and Nottingham.

She has been a trustee of Leicester Print Workshop, the Midlands centre for Fine Art Printmaking since 2014, and has recently joined the board of trustees at Leicester Children’s Holidays. Hema is also an alumnus of the Clore Leadership programme.
