Where are they now?
Linda is Freelance Creative Producer working primarily across theatre, spoken word, children’s shows, interdisciplinary and experimental/activist work, and library and community partnerships. She is currently a Senior Producer at Leeds Playhouse.
Prior to this, Linda was Creative Programmes Manager at the Albany, an arts centre in South East London with a huge and diverse programme of events and participation opportunities each year, including award-winning and globally renowned artistic and community collaboration projects.
Linda has also worked with the British Library, Roundhouse, Pleasance Theatre and several other cultural venues, and has almost ten years of freelance experience in the sector – she started out as an Assistant Stage Manager back in 2010.
Linda is committed to artist development and in particular championing diversity and accessibility and empowering those who don’t always get a seat at the table; she runs monthly artist surgeries at the Albany, is a mentor to emerging artists in her spare time, does regular free or low cost talks and workshops on producing and freelancing, and posts #OpportunityTuesday every week; a Twitter thread of paid opportunities for artists. Fundraising is a huge part of Linda’s role at the Albany and her freelance career, and so she is excited to develop her own skills in this area during the Fellowship, as well as share the knowledge with others in the industry.
