Arts Fundraising and Leadership Intensive

Arts Fundraising and Leadership Intensive

The Arts Fundraising and Leadership Intensive is an executive programme led by the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds, as part of the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy Programme. Available as a professional development opportunity in its own right, it is also the first step towards one of the few academically accredited fundraising leadership courses in the UK.

This course focuses on arts fundraising leadership, and is essential for sector leaders at this critical time for arts and culture as we seek to rebuild income generation strategies post-Covid-19. The programme explores topics such as, how to manage change; how to build resilience; and how to instil values into fundraising and development activity to deliver results. It is led by academics, senior practitioners and consultants from the sector.

The programme also offers vital time out for reflection – a rare chance for delegates to step back from day-to-day pressures of working life, share ideas with like-minded colleagues, and actively engage in new thinking and strategic planning to support recovery from the impacts the sector is facing right now.

"The course has been exceptional in quality, with a high standard of theory presented in a variety of teaching styles. My aim was to learn and consolidate previous knowledge and this has been met and will feed into the future academic and professional practice."

In 2021 the Intensive will run as online sessions over the weekend of 5th-6th June, with a follow-up Thought Leadership event in Leeds in the autumn at which you will meet academic staff and other attendees. Please note, the in-person training is subject to Covid-19 guidance. If we are unable to deliver the residential in Leeds it will revert to being delivered online.

If the price is a barrier to you attending the Arts Fundraising & Leadership Intensive a number of bursary places are available. The University of Leeds will be offering the bursary places dependent on need and the sector impact your attendance at the intensive will have.

To apply for a bursary you need to fill in this short expression of interest form by the 23rd May. The University will then be in touch with the awards.

After completing the Intensive, there is an opportunity to build on this as part of the Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy PGCert with the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds. You can find out more about this opportunity on their website.
