The Irish Women's Oral History Collective are a collection of scholars and feminist citizens seeking to gather and share Irish women's stories to capture a fuller history of our experiences.
Our mission is to ensure that the memories of Irish women from the 1930s onwards are heard and are recorded and kept as a part of Irish history and the histories of Irish people travelling out and across the world.
The Irish Women's Oral History Collective have so far achieved:
Fifteen fabulous interviews with fifteen fabulous women gathered to date…
Ten interviews already deposited in the Birkbeck, University of London repository to ensure they are catalogued clearly and preserved for future interest and scholarship.
We are not doing face-to-face right now but lots of collaboration is happening online.
We have a Twitter account @UnaganagunaP where we follow and share news about oral history, Irish and Irish diaspora women.
We’ve joined NCVO and are setting up as a charity.
